I can't identify my camera

Hi All,

Like so many others I've bought a camera off Ebay, it looks identical to my other 2 cameras (A wansview and a tenvis) but the webgui is awful and seems to hide the useful functions, such as DDNS. The live view wont work as it only wants to display using some sort of control that is blocked by every browser. Im only able to view the camera using their own generic app (Android) so I cant view and control it with my other cameras from the same app.  I can connect to it via telnet and I get:-

I did also take the bottom off and got some of the chip numbers and PCB identifiers:-

I want to be able to either put the original manufacturer firmware on or a compatible one that will work better. Looking at the gui the firmware was updated just before they sent it out to me. I've not made any progress with the sellar other than getting a 50% refund on the camera.

it is a "Hi3518" type of camera. Use the boardsearch and you will find several posts.
Be aware that compatibility of firmware depends on a lot of components, not only cpu (wifi chip, camera chip, ...) so your milage may vary, you might even brick your device without a copy of the original. If it is possible to change the UI only, that might be less risky.

I don't have any experience with this type as I only own the vintage ones.

Thanks for the reply. I've since managed to get a refund via ebay so Im willing to risk putting a new firmware on. I've tried several firmwares via the gui but they all fail so Im assuming they lock that to only allow theirs. Can anyone point me in the direction of how to apply a firmware in a different way. There is an "upgrade" command available when I telnet into the camera but I cant find any sort of reference on how to use this...

Hi all, i also bought an IPCamera on Ebay. Owner told me he hasnt any CD with software, and he dont know how kind of camera it is.
I found these info on the label at bottom of the camera:
IPCamera
User=admin; password=none
power adapter:  DC5v2000ma
Factory Ip: 192.168.1.99:99
Remote address: geaz.88safe.com
ddns password: ******            ===>(hidden from me)
In a small label there are these info: 
Model:MD533 (or MO533 or M0533)
fcc id: ywtwfxmd5
in another label :  PO 2587; PN: Cam0076

The brand seems to be DB-POWER

After resetting (with button) the camera seems do not have the Ip number reported (its 169.254.80.82:80)
My problems are two:
first: the ip p2p finder i use says no UID on the cam; i can connect form my lan (on wifi else), not from out.
second problem: i dont see the video, think is cause of the activex or codec, is this right?

depending on the web-ui and the cam-finder sw the UID might be some identification that you can define yourself in the settings.
For beeing accessible from "outside" you mostlikely need portforwarding set up in your wifi router.
