I recently purchased an IP Camera from Aldi Australia.

http://www.supra-elektronik.com/popups/Maginon_IPC-1_popup_aus/index.php

This appears to be running the OpenIPCam firmware with the JQuery/AJAX based variant of the UI.

For the most part it works, I've not tried it with the supplied Windows software, just directly configured via the web interface. The web interface seems to have a limit of 12 characters for passwords and will error if you try to enter a longer password. It also seems to leak things like the MAC address and name of the camera before one has authenticated.

Code: [Select]
Camera ID: **REDACTED**
Date and time: Mon 21 Jan 2013 11:13:25 EST
Firmware version: 0.41.2.47
Web interface version: 2.2.1.0
Camera name: **REDACTED**
Connection status: Wired
Alarm status: No alarm
DDNS status: No DDNS
UPNP status: No UPNP

It appears to be limited to MJPEG video, however it seems to have an undocumented audio feature as there's an audio socket on the back and outside of the standard web UI, if you load up:

http://CAMERA/videostream.asf?user=USERNAME&pwd=PASSWORD

... as documented on this site, you'll get a stream with audio. Microphone appears to be part of camera assembly. Audio very bad over WiFi, only works well on wired ethernet.

Does this look like a model that might benefit from newer versions of firmware?

Oh, and there's another chip under the WiFi board, but the WiFi board is soldered in place.

Web interface update for the Maginon IPC-1 is here:

German (DE): http://www.traveler-service.de/cms/index.php?id=589
English (AU): http://www.traveler-service.de/cms/index.php?id=586

Actual files inside the ZIPs seems to be the same (byte for byte when extracted) for de-DE and en-AU pages.

There seems to be another Homepage with even newer Firmware + new Webinterface :

http://www.supra-elektronik.com/typo3/index.php?id=125&L=13

Maginon_IPC-1_FW-System_041251.zip
Maginon_IPC-1_FW-Webinterface_2240.zip

These Files extract to :
ipc_2240_supra_ipc1.bin from 23.July 2013 -> Webinterface Version 2.2.4.0
lr_cmos_0_41_2_51.bin from 22.July 2013 -> Firmware Version 0.41.2.51

I have successfully flashed these two files into my camera.

Also found similar page through same site with same firmware but English documentation.

Doesn't seem to be any obvious difference, and audio feature still works if you access feed via:

http://camaddress/videostream.asf?user=...&pass=...&resolution=

... as documented in the IPCAM CGI SDK 2.1 PDF. Is there a changelog somewhere?
