Post by: Juddy on January 11, 2013, 10:39:42 pm
Hey, for anyone that's interested, here are my mods so far...

Charger Dock installed,

This will charge the 9.6v 750mha batteries banks that I have cut down to be 6.8v. I'm waiting on a few things in the mail, but here is the a photo of a test run,

Anyone got ideas on replacement motors... more torque is what I want.

Nice work. I plan on doing a lipo myself. As for motors once i get mine out i can size them and let you know some alternatives.  https://solarbotics.com/catalog/motors-servos/standard-motors/ is a place you can pick up a few of known types if you know the size already.

Did you knock down the voltage with a regulator?

I stumbled across your thread today while doing my own research on a Brookstone Rover 2.0 SpyTank.  I haven't got any further than you have in this thread, but I did document a few things you might find useful.  If I can find more time it would be fun to work together to make this platform easier to use for robotics development.  Check out my page at http://techbloginator.wordpress.com/2013/02/09/spytank-teardown/#more-197.  I've linked to your thread here.
