I'm new in ONVIF, and i have to implement a client software to control the IP Camera which is support ONVIF. So as the start, i have downloaded the ONVIF Device Manager to play with the camera and get familiar with ONVIF. I'm confusing is, according to the ONVIF spec, they do support set parameters for the PTZ configuration. However in the Onvif Device Manager, i only able to view the configuration for the PTZ but no edit it. I'm wondering, is this feature is being disable by the camera or it's the limitation of the Software ONVIF Device Manager?? I'm play with Bosch and Sony camera at this moment.

Anyone can give me some hints? or is there any good forum that i can ask my question regarding to the ONVIF.

Many thanks.

I've never used the ONVIF device manager, so don't know.

Best is to roll your own call - ONVIF uses XML, so a bit of work in PHP or similar with a SOAP XML toolkit, and you can query / get responses and see.

What version of ONVIF do the camera's support?  Most barely support the basic spec's, so its highly probable that you can only query, and not do PTZ.

ONVIF 1.02 spec here -
