Study shopper behaviors via cameras?

I'm working on learning how the revenge shopping will change the whole retail industry. As I figured out that the key is more like to be related to the shopper buying behaviors in the store, I think comparing the shopping behavior before and after the shopping revenge would make more sense.

In short, I would like to ask if there is other easy ways to measure these shopping behaviors other than with my own eye. Like, use the CCTV system to playback some video to take notes, or set up Bluetooth detectors in the store to do analysis? If you have any experience, please share it with me. Thanks.
