Title: CoolCam NIP-02, different versions, need help
Post by: radicalbill on August 22, 2013, 11:08:43 pm
I purchased 2 cameras off Ebay and went back and bought a 3rd. Same seller, same auction.  2 of the camera arrived and say NIP-02 on the box.  They work fine, they have the FTP upload feature and Outdoor setting that I need.

The 3rd on arrived in a different box that said IP Camera and the CD was different, it said P2P IP Cmaera.

The 3rd camera says it is a NIP-02, but it does not show up in the IP Camera software of the other 2 cameras.

The Firmware on the 2 cameras that are working is 0.41.2.14  and the UI is  4.2.13.12

The Firmware on the 3rd camera that is not working is 81.2.0.133  and the UI is  19.2.1.2.10

I can not find the firmware or UI for either of these cameras on the web.  I looked on the  szneo.com website and there is nothing there.

I would like to try to backup one of the 2 cameras that works and try to flash the 3rd camera with the UI and Firmware from the working camera.

Not sure if this would work, but there is no setting to do that from what I can see.

Can anyone help ?  Is this 3rd camera really a NIP-02 or is it something else ?

Thanks

Bill

I was able to revive the one CoolCam, original firmware 0.41.2.47  original UI 4.2.13.12.  This will be of intrest to others:  This camera is the Foscam F18918W, and you can flash it with firmware 11.37.2.51  and UI 2.4.10.5  from Foscam.

My other camera, the one I can not figure out what it is, I still need help ID'ing it.  It says Model:  NIP-02 P2P Black  the ID is NIP-016XXX-WRGBS  That sticker says P2P IP Camera.  I am sure this is a Foscam camera as well, but can't ID it.  The current firmware is 81.2.0.133   The current UI is   19.2.1.2.10   and it is a CoolCam from China.

Any help ?

I have just received two cameras like the one you mention you canĀ“t figure what they are. Could you get sending email when alarm? I setup them ok and do the email test right but there is no way to make it sends email when detect alarm.
Also the manual is very bad, and the PC app is also quite bad and has some errors when setting the camera alarm settings from it.
The web ui is nothing similar to original Coolcam Nip-02 one, but my camera has the Neo Coolcam logo and is says NIP-02, is quite dissapointing.

Hello,
I'm a noob in Ip cam and I have a new "not branded" coolcam NIP-02.
Applications on the CD are poor quality but works more or less

Here are some information regarding Firmware :
   Device Firmware Version      81.2.0.133
Device Embeded Web UI Version      20.2.1.2.15

The processor is a Ralink RT5350F.

As you see mine has the same FW version and a newer WebUI. This is probably a new version of Coolcam NIP-02. (with the RALINK processor)

External view : http://cjoint.com/?CKvlYFeSdVi
Rear connector view : http://cjoint.com/?CKvlY1KfoPe
Processor board : http://cjoint.com/?CKvlSBnYNcI
Board view : http://cjoint.com/?CKvlTGANAmA
JTAG : http://cjoint.com/?CKvlUBfOYxS

Do you have original Coolcam PC applications ?

I will try to upload the FW through the Jtag in the next days

We need to find which FOSCAM has this new board inside with RALINK micro

Hi, i've the same ip camera. I want to flash a new firmware for include FTP upload, i've tried to search it on coolcam site, but there is nothing...Anyway, in the case wich you are able to find a new FW, is it possible to flash it directly from the UI? Thanks

Hi,
It will be possible to flash with Windows app and Web ui. But there is no FW from coolcam today.
That's why I ask if somebody have a FOSCAM with the RALINK RT5350 processor (if it exists...)

Can you share the applications of your CD ?

If we can't find a Firmware we must understand our to change the ID of our cam with a FOSCAM ID (maybe we must modify some other parameters) to use our Coolcams with FOSCAM applications

I have a "no brand" coolcam and the software is not coolcam, could you share it?

You want to send more mail than 6 or less ? I don't understand your request.
I didn't made the install / config but on another identical ip cam it works, it sends 6 photo per mail every 5 minutes

Hi I have this camera, and I found only 2 sites, that talk about nip02:
http://liken.otsoa.net/blog/?x=entry:entry140322-183809

http://customcam.blogspot.it/2013/03/ip-cam-foscam-clone-hacking-foscam-like.html

I am a newbie, so I can not understood if this link can resolve the problem. However I contacted, http://www.szneo.com
I hope to have an answer.

My problems are: I can receive any email on motion detection and input alarm short-circuited does not have any effetc.

Hi, mine is similar to yakka one...

Hello,

Please create another Admin Level User Id for the camera for testing and use it to logon to the camera when using this.

It allows you to activate the IO alarm pins and change the at rest state of the IO alarm pins:

http://www.saveontelephonebills.com/camera/YourCameraBIV25.htm

After testing, you then can delete the testing Admin Level User Id.

Note: Please check the checkboxes "IO Linkage" and "Input Armed" and then you can also select "IO In Level" as "Low" or "High" as the at rest state for Alarm Input. Normally this is set to "Low".

You are very welcome.

The link I sent is an Interface that I created that should work with this camera. It allows you to "Turn On" the IO Pins in the event that they are off. If the alarm pins are off then nothing will happen when you connect the Alarm In pins.

You can use the Admin User Id you have with the Interface as well.

You need to have the VLC installed for this to work in Firefox:

http://www.videolan.org/

Then you also need to make sure that Firefox has the VLC plugin installed as well.

You are in error. VLC also includes/supports browser plugins as well.

Secondly please change your URL to be:

Code: [Select]
http://192.168.1.121:81/videostream.cgi?user=admin&pwd=YourPassword&resolution=32&rate=0

You can also try using the above URL directly in VLC to see if your browser is causing your issue. If the same URL works in VLC then something is wrong with your Firefox browser setup.

Please check to make sure your user and password is correct. If you are being prompted and being denied to logon then something is wrong with the User Id or Password you are entering.

I can only say that when you are prompted to logon if you are denied then that is a user/password issue and has nothing to do with the videostream.cgi CGI command failing.

Please contact your seller to see what they say could be the issue? Also ask them for the CGI SDK for commands for your camera as well.

In most cases your seller will be helpful.

Hello Don, I am reading this document:

I read that I can download your online "Hack", so I'll test it in local. I think that it can be a good idea. I'll stay in touch with you. Many thanks for your free mod. Cheers..

Please note. It's NOT a "Hack"

Valid, approved and supported CGI commands are being used with the Interface:

http://foscam.us/forum/cgi-api-sdk-for-mjpeg-h-264-camera-t2986.html#p13630

So the Interface is based on approved methods and NOT hacks.

I can't use GenericBIV31.htm, when I type password the screen gets blank. I only changed file to my local ip.

What can I do?

I assume your IP Camera is a Foscam MJPEG based or Clone IP Camera?

Did you download the Interface from here?

http://foscam.us/forum/free-generic-browser-interface-for-foscam-ip-mjpeg-cameras-t2522.html (http://foscam.us/forum/free-generic-browser-interface-for-foscam-ip-mjpeg-cameras-t2522.html)

1. Please make sure you are NOT using a leading http:// when defining the DDNS or IP Address and port for your IP Camera in the Interface configuration.

2. Please make sure if you are attempting to access the camera remotely that you are using your ISP IP Address or DDNS and port for your IP Camera and not your local IP Address and port for the IP Camera.

You can also try this to instantly access your IP Camera from within your local network using the local IP Address or ISP IP Address or DDNS and port for your IP Camera or remotely using your ISP IP Address or DDNS and port for your IP Camera. Does it work?

http://www.saveontelephonebills.com/camera/YourCameraBIV25.htm (http://www.saveontelephonebills.com/camera/YourCameraBIV25.htm)

If it does? Then something is wrong with the configuration values you have setup in your copy of the Interface.

I have this "fake" Coolcam NIP-02, I tried your software with a EasyN Model M sometime ago and worked flawlessly.

Using local file I get only a blank screen after login and on your website only the ad "
Click For Cheap Website Cloud Hosting " shows after login.

Using TinyCam Monitor the cam is identified as "Medisana Smart Baby Monitor"  >:(

It's the only software, besides it's own one that works.

Using CoolCam NIP-02:

I tried the link you gave and only "Click For Cheap Website Cloud Hosting" shows after login.

Using GenericBIV31.htm, blank screen after login.

I can login using both ways (so the ip is correct).

Using EasyN Model M:

--------------

Then the CoolCam NIP-02 does not use the same CGI commands as the Foscam MJPEG based IP Cameras or their Clones do. Because of that. The interface will not work with this specific IP Camera.

You may want to contact your seller and see if they will give you what's known as the "CGI SDK Manual" for this IP Camera model. If they will? Then it would be possible to implement something like this for this IP Camera brand and model as it would be for any other IP Camera brand and model that supports CGI commands and pulling snapshots from the IP Camera using HTTP or HTTPS access methods:

http://foscam.us/forum/a-how-to-embed-any-foscam-ip-camera-in-webpage-using-1-line-t9113.html#p43654 (http://foscam.us/forum/a-how-to-embed-any-foscam-ip-camera-in-webpage-using-1-line-t9113.html#p43654)

This would also allow you to display different IP Camera models and brands of IP Camera models, at the same time. Using any Internet browser capable device.

Live example here showing 14 different IP Cameras at the same time. That also allows each IP Camera to be viewed and/or controlled individually from ANY Internet browser capable devices. From Computers to Tablets and Phones to TVs. While all being done, totally securely, without the need to install any software on any device:

http://107.170.59.150/foscam/FoscamUS.htm (http://107.170.59.150/foscam/FoscamUS.htm)

You can try the above example, from the Internet browser capable devices of your choice.

Mine is not a Coolcam, but have the following version, I'm not sure this FW will work fine, do you think that I have a risk of brick?
   Device Firmware Version      81.2.0.133
Device Embeded Web UI Version      20.2.1.2.15
   Device ID      NIP-xxxxxx-CWFWW

Thanks

Hello guys,

I have a colocam that was working fine until i changed the router that i was using and now I can't connect to it by wifi... With the cable connection it works fine, but not with the wireless connection. All the settings are ok, from what I road it may be something related to the ip the the new router gives to the camera or something like that but since I can't solve this problem I was thinking about change the camera firmware to see if it works.

So, can anyone help me with this or tell me where can I find a new firmware?

Thank you
